Creating a Back up of your Hard Drive with Mac OS X
February 26, 2006

There is nothing worse than having your hard drive fail and realizing that you don’t have a current backup of your system and important files. With the size of hard drives continually increasing and as we keep more or our important data like pictures, music, and documents on our computers. It is now more important than ever to keep an up-to-date copy of your hard drive backed up at all times. Not to mention saving you the frustration of re-installing your operating system and software, re-encoding your MP3s not to mention hoping you have copies of your digital images saved somewhere should your drive fail.
Luckily enough Mac OS X includes a handy utility that will perform this task for you. Follow these simple directions and you can easily create a bootable back-up copy of your internal hard drive. It is a good idea to make a complete back-up of your computer at least once a month at the very least. Spending less than half an hour a month is a small price to pay should you ever need your data down the road.
