Griffin Technology Inc., creator of all things iPod, announced today that its new iTalk Pro has shipped to stores.
iTalk Pro combines simplicity with versatility, to allow iPod users to faithfully record under real-world conditions.
The iTalk Pro plugs directly into the iPod’s dock connector. It’s the most compact configuration possible, eliminating the need for extra cables and adapters.
Easy, one-touch operation allows users to concentrate on what they’re hearing, instead of how to operate the equipment.
iTalk Pro can record in stereo or mono. Built-in twin microphones record in stereo at 44.1 kHz to yield professional, CD-quality recordings. But iTalk Pro also features a stereo 1/8″ (3.5 mm) input jack to accommodate external microphones for greater stereo separation.
Versatile adjustable gain settings give the user control over the volume, making iTalk Pro the world’s most faithful, most portable handheld recording studio.

Compatibility
iTalk Pro captures quality audio on iPod with video and iPod nano 2G.
Pricing and Availability
iTalk Pro, priced at $49.99, is now available at www.griffintechnology.com, and wherever quality iPod accessories are sold.

With a completely interactive Click Wheel membrane, enthusiasts can turn up the volume or scroll through favorite tunes even on a run! An airtight seal prevents elements from entering the case and a rugged, drop-proof design cradles nanos from falls and scratches.

Usable with any style headphone, the case accommodates a variety sets. For water-based activities, customers can purchase waterproof headphones online. The OtterBox for iPod nano 2nd Generation fits 2, 4, and 8 GB color nano models.

“We’ve heard some amazing customer stories of people taking their iPods wakeskating, kayaking, snowboarding, and even skydiving in the OtterBox for iPod cases,” said Curt Richardson, CEO of Otter Products, LLC. “The new OtterBox 2nd Generation nano case will allow the same flexibility in any environment.”

A clear design allows the color of the nano to show through and includes a removable neck lanyard and belt clip for easy carrying. Optional armbands also available for added convenience.

Are Podcasts really catching on?

November 27, 2006 | Leave a Comment

BBC news is reporting, “the number of US internet users who have experimented with downloading a podcast continues to grow but few remain hooked, research suggests.”

According to the article Pew Internet and American Life Project found 12% of US people online had downloaded a podcast. But just 1% of respondents said that they would download a podcast on a typical day. There are still very large discrepancies according to the article as well. The Diffusion Group suggested that podcasts could have a US audience of 56 million by 2010. Meanwhile a report by Forrester Research forecast an audience of just 12 million. The big difference in the two figures hints of the difficulty measuring and forecasting podcast numbers. Charlene Li, one of the authors of the Forrester report said, “counting podcast downloads is a dubious way to measure usage.”

Are Podcasts really catching on? PostcastAlley.com a website with a dedicated podcast directory currently lists 26,798 active podcasts available for download. With well over 25,000 Podcasts available, is anyone actually listening?

I would love to hear your comments on whether you listen to Podcasts on a regular basis or are you like some of us that just download one from time to time and never bother to listen to it.
