Apple today announced that more than three billion songs have been purchased and downloaded from the iTunes Store. iTunes is the world’s most popular online music, TV and movie store featuring a catalog of over five million songs, 550 television shows and 500 movies. iTunes recently surpassed Amazon and Target to become the third largest music retailer in the US.*
“We’d like to thank all of our customers who have contributed to this incredible milestone,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes.
With Apple’s legendary ease of use, pioneering features such as Cover Flow, integrated podcasting support, iMix playlist sharing, seamless integration with iPod and iPhone, and the ability to turn previously purchased songs into completed albums at reduced prices, the iTunes Store is the best way for PC and Mac users to legally discover, purchase and download music and video online.
*Based on data from market research firm the NPD Group’s MusicWatch survey, which captures consumer reported past week unit purchases equivalized so that one CD equals 12 tracks, excluding wireless transactions.

Bonjour for Windows 1.0.4
July 30, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Apple has just released Bonjour for Windows Version 1.0.4 and is recommended for all Bonjour users to improve usability and compatibility.
Bonjour requires Windows 2000/2003, Windows XP or Windows Vista. Make sure you have the latest Service Pack installed for your computer using Windows Update.
Users running 64-bit versions of Windows XP or Windows Vista can download a compatible version of Bonjour for Windows 1.0.4 here.
Bonjour is a networking protocol that sends and receives network packets on UDP port 5353. If you have a “personal firewall” enabled, you will need to ensure that UDP port 5353 is open for Bonjour to work correctly. Certain firewalls will only partially block Bonjour packets, so if you experience intermittent behavior, check the firewall settings and verify that Bonjour is listed as an exception and is allowed to receive incoming packets. Bonjour will configure the Windows firewall appropriately during installation on Windows XP Service Pack 2 and above.

MYOB today announced the release of FirstEdge v3, their entry-level small business management and accounting software application for Mac OS X.
The release completes their move to Universal Mac products, with AccountEdge going Universal in late 2006 and AccountEdge Network Edition following in early 2007.
FirstEdge v3 sees the entry-level software line updated with over 20 feature enhancements including Address Book sync, improved budgeting tools, and enhanced reporting, among other changes.
“FirstEdge is a straightforward accounting package for Mac-based small businesses that have simple accounting needs,” says Tom Nash, Managing Partner, MYOB US. “The latest version keeps the ease of use that our FirstEdge customers are accustomed to, while adding some key features, such as Address Book sync and retaining multiple years of transaction history, which our customer surveys have shown to be two of our most popular feature requests.”
