Mac OS X 10.5: “Blue screen” appears after installing Leopard and restarting

November 1, 2007

Several users have noted that after installing Leopard on their computer they are greeted with a “Blue screen” after restarting. Apple has noted in a recent support article that, “You may have third-party “enhancement” software installed that does not work with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.”

The software in question appears to be an Application Enhancer (APE) system add-on, produced by Unsanity. Chances are if you already installed Leopard and are seeing the “Blue Screen” you will have to follow one of Apples solutions.

If you haven’t upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard yet it is suggested that you remove all system add-ons before upgrading.

If it is a third party enhancement, then why does my macbook do it even after a clean install? I have tried all of apples solutions and stll it does not work.
