As a thank you to our regular website visitors for another great year here at MacSupport we are giving away an Apple iPod shuffle 1GB MP3 Player to one lucky RSS email subscriber.
To qualify for the drawing simply enter with your email address using the form below by January 31, 2008. One entry will chosen at random from all entries received on February 1, 2008.
The contest is to thank our active and loyal visitors and will be the first of many contests we will be holding this year. The winner is able to choose which colour they prefer.
The email list is handled by a 3rd party (FeedBurner) and will only be used for subscriptions to our RSS feed and entry into this and future contests. Your email address will never be displayed publicly on MacSupport, nor sold for any other uses.

* Only one entry is allowed per eligible individual, multiple entries will be disregarded.
* One entry will be selected at random February 1, 2008.
* The winner will be notified via email using the email address they subscribed with.
* Winners must respond to the winner notification email within 3 days with their shipping address and telephone number. If no response is received within this time period another winner will be selected randomly.
* MacSupport reserves the right to substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value, if the advertised prize becomes unavailable.

10 MacWorld 2008 Predictions

With the holidays behind us now Mac users have only one thing to look forward to in the New Year. MACWORLD 2008! This years MacWorld Expo kicks off in San Francisco January 14th 2008.
As always Steve Jobs likes to throw out a little reality distortion field for the eager Mac users in attendance. The keynote is rarely disappointing and always give Apple fans more reasons that they are glad they use a Mac.
Without further ado here is our 10 MacWorld 2008 Predictions:
1. iPhone 2.0 (I think this is a given since the iPhone was first announced at MacWorld 2007. Watch for 3G models)
2. Canadian iPhone release date (Here’s hoping)
3. Updated Apple TV with iPhone & iPod touch remote support
4. iTunes Movie Rentals
5. 3rd Party iPhone application support
6. Updated Mac Pro (MacWorld is typically a consumer show but these machines are long overdue for an upgrade)
7. Updated MacBook Pro
8. New Apple Cinema Displays ( As with the Mac Pro the displays are a little long in the tooth. Watch for LCD technology)
9. Mac OS X 10.5.2
10. More International Apple Retail Stores Announcements

Each week, we find a track from an artist or a band we’ve been enjoying and bring it to you, for free, as our Single of the Week. Young Galaxy is indie-pop duo Stephen Ramsay and Catherine McCandless. Working within that section of indie pop which finds hope in spaced-out sounds, cosmic synths, droning guitar buzz, and sweetly arranged vocals, Young Galaxy put out an olive branch to the skies, and make being earth-bound seem completely lackluster.

Apple today released MacBook, MacBook Pro Software Update 1.1 via software update and standalone download. [979KB Download Link]
Apple notes, “This update addresses a responsiveness issue on MacBook and MacBook Pro notebook computers. Some MacBook and MacBook Pro systems may occasionally experience a temporary suspension of keyboard input which can last a minute or longer. The Mac OS X 10.5.1 update is required before installing the MacBook, MacBook Pro Software Update 1.1.”
