App Alley is a little different from the other iPhone & iPod touch app sites. First their site is optimized for viewing on the iPhone & iPod touch. It may look a bit small on your computers browser but works great when you access it from your iPhone or iPod touch. They also only review and feature iPhone/iPod touch apps.
App Alley reviews and features apps that they think you will find both useful and entertaining. At the end of each post, you will find a link to the App on the iTunes store you you can check out the App for yourself. App Alley states they will feature both free and paid Apps.
Definitely worth checking it out on your iPhone or iPod touch.
Apple ProRes QuickTime Decoder 1.0

Apple today released the Apple ProRes QuickTime Decoder 1.0 via software update and standalone download. [369KB Download Link]Apple notes, “The Apple ProRes QuickTime Decoder software allows both Mac and Windows users to play Apple ProRes files through QuickTime. Apple ProRes is a visually lossless format that provides uncompressed HD quality at SD data rates.”
It is an excellent choice for mastering and can easily be transcoded to distribution formats like H.264. With new support for playback on both Mac and Windows computers, Apple ProRes can also be used for review and approval of Final Cut Studio sequences.
MacBook Air Update

Apple has just released a MacBook Air Update via software update and standalone download. [368KB Download Link]
Apple notes, “This update is recommended for all MacBook Air computers, and addresses issues with video playback and processor core idling. Third-party software that modifies processor operating characteristics such as frequency and voltage is not supported and should be removed before installing this update.”
iPhone Firmware 2.0.2 released

Apple has just released iPhone Firmware 2.0.2 via iTunes update. Apple describes the 248.7MB Version 2.0.2 as a bug fix release with no additional information.
A note to iPhone users with an unlocked iPhone this update will re-lock your iPhone and uninstall any 3rd party applications you may have installed.

Apple Releases iPhone 2.01 update

Apple has released the iPhone 2.01 update via iTunes. According to Apple the 242MB iPhone update contains “bug fixes”. While no other additional features are included in this update some early upgraders are reporting that the 2.01 update fixes some application lag issues and also decreases 3rd party application crashes.
The update can be installed via iTunes.
Lexmark Printer Driver 1.1

The Lexmark Printer Driver Update includes the latest drivers for printers you have used on your system.
Apple notes, “This update is available via Software Update as well and will only be visible if the printer is connected to your computer or a print queue has been created for an earlier version.”
Security Update 2008-005

Apple today released Security Update 2008-005 for Mac OS X Leopard, Intel and PPC based computers.
Apple notes, “Security Update 2008-005 is recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X. Previous security updates have been incorporated into this security update.”
